School Of Rock – NickelodeonIn 2003 the world was won over by the scruffy charm and extensive musical talents of Jack Black and the impressive group of musical prodigies featured in the box office hit School Of Rock and now Nickelodeon is set to transform it’s timeless story into a weekly comedy series and casting calls for a number of different roles for actors, musicians and singers will soon be taking place. This could be an incredible chance for a talented group of aspiring entertainers to show their gifts to millions of fans around the globe in Nick’s next sure to be hit musical comedy series. Auditions are set to take place very soon for this direct-to-series pickup and interested performers can submit themselves today for consideration for all available roles.Nickelodeon’s School Of Rock will once again focus on the hilarious premise of the film, wherein unemployed wannabe rock star Dewey Finn (played by Black in the film but set to be re-cast for the series) poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious private school. Woefully unprepared and bored with his new duties, Dewey decides to tap into some of the musicaltalent of his students and soon an act where he is the lead singer and guitarist and enters ‘School Of Rock’ into a battle of the bands competition. This outstanding project is based on the Golden Globe nominated movie directed by Richard Linklater (Bad News Bears, Dazed and Confused, Boyhood) and is being brought to the small screen by himself and Academy Award winning mega-producer Scott Rudin (Moneyball, The Social Network, The Truman Show) and will be written by the team of Steve and Jim Armogida (Grounded for Life, Crash & Bernstein, My Family). It’s one of my favorite Nick shows ever, and the cast seems really fun to work with. I have been in multiple musicals, for example, Captain Bree and Her Lady Pirates, Shrek Jr, and so on. When I was little I would pretend to be other characters from movies I would watch I would even try to do stunts I would see in the movies. I would like to maybe pop up in one of the newer seasons. I’ve been taking theatre classes ever since I was 9 years old at school. I signed up for the “stars of tomorrow” program at John Robert Powers in Lebanon about three years ago where I took singing and acting courses, after completing the program I continued with the acting classes there for about a year.
